C&AG welcomes States Assembly appointment of Board of Governance members

The Comptroller and Auditor General, Lynn Pamment, has welcomed the appointment by the States Assembly of a new Chair of the Board of Governance for the Office of the C&AG together with a new independent member.  At its sitting on 03 March 2021, the States Assembly agreed a proposition to appoint Grace Nesbitt OBE as the Chair of the Board of Governance and Robert Tinlin MBE as an independent member.  Both appointments will take effect from 14 March 2021.

Grace Nesbitt will take over from Peter Price who has chaired the Board of Governance since 2016.  Grace has been a member of the Board of Governance since 2018.  Robert Tinlin is a new appointment to the Board of Governance.  He will serve alongside Professor Russel Griggs OBE, who has also been reappointed as an independent member.

Lynn Pamment said:

“I welcome the decision of the States Assembly to appoint a new Chair and new independent member of the Board of Governance for the Office of the C&AG.  I would like to thank Peter Price for his contribution as Chair of the Board of Governance since 2016.  I look forward to working with the new Board when Grace and Robert take up their new roles on 14 March 2021.”

“The Board of Governance is a key means by which the C&AG is held to account for the public funds allocated to the Jersey Audit Office.  The Board keeps under review whether the C&AG has used and is using the resources allocated properly, efficiently and effectively.”
